Charlotte Checkers Recap

Last night, the Checkers did something they haven’t done in what seems like forever – come back from a deficit and earn two points. The team was able to accomplish that feat as it squashed a two-goal lead from the Rockford Ice Hogs to end up winning 3-2.

The Ice Hogs got the first two goals of the game in the first period, but Zach Boychuk was able to score once before the period ended to bring Charlotte within one.

The score stayed like that until Boychuk was able to get his second of the game about a minute into the third period. The score would stay tied until Brody Sutter got his third of the year two and a half minutes into overtime.

Brett Sutter and Chris Terry recorded two assists, while John Muse made 32 saves. The Checkers and Ice Hogs will meet again Saturday night.
