Charlotte Checkers Recap

After staring the two-game series against the Milwaukee Admirals with a win, the Checkers were dealt a loss on Sunday to split the series. The Admirals won the game 2-1.

Zach Boychuk got the first goal of the game with eight seconds left in the first period to give the Checkers a 1-0 lead. Victor Rask and Chris Terry recorded assists on the goal.

But from there it was all Admirals as Mikka Salomaki scored his second goal in as many games against the Checkers this weekend, in the second period before Austin Watson scored the game-winner in the third period.

Rob Madore played in his first game this season with the Checkers, making 25 saves on 27 shots.

Although the Checkers could not earn two wins in a row, this loss was not as bad as the ones the team dropped in the month of November. The game was close and even though no one likes losing, the Checkers can at least build somewhat on the loss.
