Carolina Hurricanes December 2 Injury Update

The Carolina Hurricanes had plenty of injury updates from today at practice as several players are nearing their return.

Andrej Sekera skated for the first time since last Sunday’s game against the Ottawa Senators. After practice, Kirk Muller said Sekera should be OK, likely hinting that the Slovak will play tomorrow against the Capitals.

Anton Khudobin, who is taking longer than expected to get back, skated at practice again, but in even better news, the Russian netminder will travel with the team for the two-game road trip in Washington and Nashville. The team will carry three goalies, but it’s possible Khudobin could be the backup on Thursday.

Alex Semin, who is out with a concussion, did not skate at practice and will not travel with the team. The Canes will be back home Friday, which would be the earliest possible return for Semin, but him playing in that game is unlikely.

In other less serious news, Patrick Dwyer missed practice as he was taking a maintenance day. Kevin Westgarth slotted in for the winger on the second line.

Tim Gleason missed practice yet again. It was not announced if he would travel with the team, but his return date should be some point this week.
