Charlotte Checkers Recap

The Checkers were able to end November on a high note as the team beat the Milwaukee Admirals, 4-1.

The first period ended scoreless, but the Checkers controlled all of the second stanza, scoring twice. The goals came from Chris Terry and Zach Boychuk, two scorers Charlotte desperately needed to get going. Terry now has two goals in the past two games.

Justin Shugg continued the Checkers’ scoring in the third period as he scored two minutes into the period. The Admiral’s Mikka Salomaki got the team on the board before Aaron Palushaj scored on an open net to seal the win.

John Muse made 27 saves to earn the win, while Boychuk and Terry added assists and Brett Sutter had two.

This should be a confidence booster for the Checkers. Goals haven’t been easy to come by and with the veteran scorers getting goals, it should relight their fires. The Checkers play the Admirals again this afternoon at 1:30 ET.
