In Wednesday’s game, a three-goal second period led the Hurricanes to a win over the Devils. The team scored twice of off shots from the point and the fourth line outplayed whoever it was out against.

While the second period was all the Canes, the third belonged to the Devils, who scored twice and brought the game within one of tying it. The Hurricanes have to play strong all game. It’s not every contest that they’ll have the safety net of a three-goal lead.

Cam Ward played great in net for the Hurricanes and will likely get the start again. His biggest save came with three minutes left in the game on a stretching glove save on Adam Henrique.

Martin Brodeur didn’t have the strongest game for the Devils and the Canes exploited his weakness of shooting low around his feet and pads. Cory Schneider could be in net this time, so the team will have to take a different approach to beating the goalie.

A recap will be posted after the game.

Topics: Cam Ward, Carolina Hurricanes
