Checkers Make Trade
The Checkers traded Adam Brace yesterday to the San Antonio Rampage in exchange for forward Philippe Cornet. Both players are signed to AHL contracts and will not effect the makeup of either team’s NHL affiliates.
Brace was signed over the summer by the Checkers as an undrafted free agent. This year was his first season in the AHL and Brace was having a decent season, scoring six points in 10 games.
But Charlotte has been struggling through the month of November, failing to win in seven games. A move was necessary, provoking the team to trade Brace for a veteran scorer.
Cornet is just that – he scored 33 points in 46 games last season with the Oklahoma City Baron and gives the team another much needed weapon.
