Carolina Hurricanes – Detroit Red Wings Recap
The Hurricanes were able to score some goals last night, but still couldn’t muster a win as they fell to the Red Wings, 4-3. Andrej Sekera scored twice, while Brett Bellemore scored the first goal of his career.
The third period started 2-2, but with less than five minutes left, the Red Wings had taken a two-goal lead that the Hurricanes could not overcome. Sekera scored his second with 16 seconds left.
It’s also worth mentioning that last night’s game was the first one in six games that Peters has let up four or more goals. Last season, Peters had problems coming into the game after taking a few days off. It’s possible that still bothers him.
It’s nice to see that the team could score a little bit, but it’s also worth mentioning that no forwards could score as the goals came from two defensemen.
This is a game to build on for the Canes, but things still need to improve or the current slump their in could last for longer than anyone wants.
