Charlotte Checkers Recap

Things got slightly better for the Checkers, but not good as they lost their seventh in a row to the Toronto Marlies, 3-2. It was the first game in November that the Checkers lost by just one.

Rasmus Rissanen got the scoring started in 11 minutes into the game, but the Marlies got the next two before Brett Sutter scored to tie it in the third. But the tie wouldn’t last as former Hurricane Troy Brodie scored the game-winner with less than eight minutes left.

John Muse made 27 saves, but had to settle for a loss. Even though, the team didn’t win, this game can at least be used as a stepping stone onto better things. The Checkers didn’t get blown out, as the case has been lately and an important player like Sutter scored.

Now if Victor Rask, Zach Boychuk and Mark Flood can get their scoring started again, Charlotte may be on to better things.
