  • Eric Staal will play the 700th game of his career tomorrow (Hurricanes Website)
  • The Charlotte Checkers signed John Muse, who played with the team last year, to a pro-tryout. After giving up seven goals in their last game, the Checkers needed a goalie to help the team while Justin Peters is with the Hurricanes. (Checkers Website)
  • Elias Lindholm is ready to get the season started again after missing the last few games (Raleigh News & Observer)
  • Matt Karash looks at the Hurricanes goal numbers per line through the first nine games of the season (HockeyBuzz)
  • Andrew Luistro looks at how to fit Tim Gleason back in the lineup (The Hockey Writers)

My Opinion: With Dwyer going on IR, it will give the Canes some time to keep the roster as it is now, but once he returns they’ll be in the same boat again.

It’s likely a forward is sent down. Brett Sutter doesn’t have to pass through waivers, but Kevin Westgarth makes less of an impact on the team, so it will be likely between those two on who’s sent down.
