Wednesday Hurricanes Report

Carolina Hurricanes News

My Opinion: With how young this Hurricanes team is, Staal need to be a strong leader. I don’t think he’s had a problem leading the team before, but the Canes could do something this year and Staal will need to have control of the team throughout the year.

Staal got off to a slow start, but has picking his play up lately, which is good to see. The Canes always expect his offense and he’ll need to lead the team in production this season.

Metropolitan Division Recap

  • The Flyers and Blue Jackets lost in regulation.
  • Along with the Canes, the Islander lost in a shootout.
  • The Pens were the sole team from the Metropolitan to win last night, and continue their hold on the division.
  • Hurricanes are still in second, but the Islanders are only a point behind.
  • Blue Jackets, Capitals, Devils, Rangers and Flyers bring up the rear in that order.
