Anton Khudobin Goes On IR

The Carolina Hurricanes placed Anton Khudobin on Injured Reserve today, but the news isn’t all that bad.

Khudobin injured himself when he went out to play the puck in yesterday’s game against the Phoenix Coyotes. He needed help off the ice and did not return.

Chip Alexander also reported that the injury is a lower-body injury, but not Khudobin’s ankle or knee.

It’s good news for the Canes if the Russian netminder is not out for a long period of time. He was playing well and gave the Hurricanes a good option in net besides Cam Ward in a long time.

The Hurricanes also recalled Justin Peters today from the Charlotte Checkers.
