The Carolina Hurricanes (2-1-1) will return home for their first game against a Western Conference opponent in over a year in the Los Angeles Kings (2-2-0). Puck-drop is at 7 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on Fox Sports: Carolinas and on the radio on 99.9 FM The Fan.
The Kings last played Wednesday beating the Senators, 4-3, in a shootout. The team is known for their tough, skilled offense and strong defense. Jonathan Quick is likely to be in net tonight.
The Canes will be playing their second game in the same amount of days tonight, so the team has to start strong. Their legs are likely to get tired as the game moves along, so getting an early start could make a difference in the final stanza.
It’s also important that the Hurricanes play a tough game. The Kings don’t mind hitting, but if you throw it back at them, they’ll have a hard time playing their game.
The first line has been progressing well in the past two games with Eric Staal and Alexander Semin scoring goals, but it’s time for them to take the next jump and start leading the team in scoring. Jiri Tlusty will have to help in that cause.
A recap will be posted after the game.
