Training Camp Update

  • The team didn’t practice today after four games in the same amount of days, but the roster is beginning to look like what it could be by opening night on Oct. 5. Here’s an update of the roster:
  • Still Competing: Offense: Jeremy Welsh, Chris Terry and Zac Dalpe have made it this far. Drayson Bowman and Nathan Gerbe are playing well and look like they will make the team, beating out Aaron Palushaj. Kevin Westgarth beat out Nicolas Blanchard and Jared Staal. Radek Dvorak has not been cut yet, but is still fighting younger players.
  • Defense: Matt Corrente, Brett Bellemore and Ryan Murphy remain, but Corrente could be the next sent back to Charlotte as Bellemore and Murphy have played stronger. However, all three beat out Michal Jordan.
  • Goalies: No surprise here: Cam Ward and Anton Khudobin will be the Hurricanes’ goalies this year.
