Sunday Hurricanes Report

Hurricanes At Canadiens Recap

The Hurricanes got their first win of the preseason beating the Montreal Canadiens, 3-1, last night in Quebec City.

The Canes took the lead with five minutes left in the first period and did not look back from there, scoring twice in the second period to take a commanding lead in the game.

Drayson Bowman scored the first goal, while Jeff Skinner and Nathan Gerbe added the two other goals. Michael Bournival scored late in the third period for the Habs to break the shutout.

Anton Khudobin played a strong game recording 41 saves. Eric Staal had two assists.

Bowman looks as if he’s impressing in camp and may get a chance to stick with the team this season.

The Canes have a break now, playing their next game on Sept. 26 against the Blue Jackets.
