Preseason Game #4: Carolina Hurricanes At Montreal Canadiens

The Carolina Hurricanes will have a chance to seek redemption from last night, as they face the Montreal Canadiens again, tonight at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be in Quebec City. The game can be heard on 99.9 FM The Fan or through this link.

Last night, the Canes lost to the Canadiens, 6-0, giving up two goals in the first four shots, but the defense was not the only problem. The offense did not register a shot in the second period until 14 minutes in.

The Hurricanes didn’t have a great set of forwards playing – besides Eric Staal‘s line and Tuomo Ruutu, the remaining group of players were ones contesting for roster spots, but the results need to be better.

Cam Ward played last night, so don’t expect him in net again tonight. It’s possible Anton Khudobin gets in his second preseason game.

As for the offense, Jeff Skinner, Jordan Staal, Nathan Gerbe and Elias Lindholm are most likely up for another game. Tuomo Ruutu could play as last night was his first game in the preseason. Camp invite Radek Dvorak should play again.

On defense it may feature more younger players like Ryan Murphy, Michal Jordan and Brett Bellemore than the Hurricanes veterans.

The Canadiens’ lineup has not been announced yet.
