  • The Hurricanes held a 5k yesterday by the PNC Arena (Raleigh News & Observer)
  • Matt Karash gives his thoughts on possible Hurricanes lines for next season (HockeyBuzz)

My Opinion: The first line is obviously going to be kept together. For the second line, I believe it will be Jordan Staal and Tuomo Ruutu, like Matt, but I also believe that McGinn and Gerbe will not be competing for the wing spot.

The line should be a defensive one and Gerbe does not fit that bill and McGinn, I feel he is too young for that type of play in the NHL. Instead Aaron Palushaj and Patrick Dwyer should be competing for the spot.

Gerbe should compete for the third line spot with Elias Lindholm and Jeff Skinner, along with a slew of young forwards.

The fourth line is completely up for grabs at this point. I think Riley Nash will be the center, Radek Dvorak will earn a contract and Drayson Bowman will take the final spot with Kevin Westgarth as the 14th forward.
