Monday Hurricanes Report

Carolina Hurricanes News

My Opinion: There’s no denying that Boychuk’s career has been a failure and a disappointment so far. It could have been because of Paul Marice’s tough demeanor on young players or Boychuk’s lack of work effort or a mixture of both, but things have not gone well.

I was surprised when the Canes brought him back for another season. After chances with three different teams in one season, I thought the Hurricanes wouldn’t be interested in Boychuk at all. But the team must have enough faith in him to keep him around.

Boychuk will have another chance this season, but things don’t look good. There’s plenty of competition in training camp and Boychuk will have to come out firing on all cylinders.

That being said, I agree with Mark that Boychuk will not be able to turn things around this year.
