  • Corey Sznajder explains why Jeff Skinner is due for a great season (Shutdown Line)

My Opinion: I really do believe Skinner will have a good 2013-14 season. His stats may not have been that great these past two seasons, but he’s still a good player and he’ll prove it once again this season.

I think making the transition from Eric Staal to Jordan Staal as linemates was a big problem last year and it’s likely Skinner will have to do it again playing with Elias Lindholm. But I think that’s a move for the better.

Lindholm will likely be put in a scoring role and is a better passer than Jordan, which will allow Skinner to find the net more often. Skinner may miss Tuomo Ruutu on his line and the third forward for the line has not been found yet, but I believe things will go well for Skinner.
