My Opinion: At the beginning of the summer, I would have considered trading Skinner, but at this point I don’t believe it would make much of a difference.

The defense is much better than it was last season and the top four is respectable. The Canes would have also been able to sign a forward in free agency at the beginning of July to help replace Skinner’s production. At this point there is less of a market for wingers.

Skinner also figures to be on a scoring line with Elias Lindholm and another winger. I personally like this idea and believe it will bring depth to the Hurricanes’ offense next season. Losing Skinner would greatly hurt the Canes’ offense.
