Carolina Hurricanes News

My Opinion: Tlusty’s breakout really didn’t start this year. It started at the tail end of the 2011-12 season and continued into the lockout when he played with Kladno of the Czech league.

While on the team he played on a line with Jaromir Jagr and Tomas Plekanec, which I believe really gave Tlusty confidence going into the 2012-13 season. It’s not that Tlusty completely broke out of nowhere.

He scored at a 40-goal pace this past season and that will most likely not happen next year, but 30 goals is a reasonable expectation for Tlusty and the Canes should be happy with that amount.
