  • Yesterday’s blog on the Columbus Blue Jackets can be found here
  • Austin Levi was ranked 19th on Corey Sznajder’s Top 25 Under 25 (Shutdown Line)
  • Mark Jones gives player-by-player scoring projections for next season (Bleacher Report)

My Opinion: I agree with Mark’s projections for the first line players. Eric Staal will most likely score at a lower point-per-game pace than he was last season, but still score around 80 points. Same with Alexander Semin and Jiri Tlusty is due for a career year with over 60 points.

Jordan Staal‘s 57 points is maybe a little high for him, he needs to rebound from last year. 45 points for Elias Lindholm is most likely a high estimate, I would expect more in the mid-30 point range given the defensive role he could be put in.

Jeff Skinner has a lot to prove next season, but first he needs to get through injuries, 44 points in 61 games is a reasonable expectation. I wouldn’t expect Patrick Dwyer to score as many points as predicted, he could play the fourth line and revert to a more defensive play.
