  • Peter Karmanos, the Hurricanes’ owner, will be inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame (Hurricanes’ Website)
  • A profile of Victor Rask, who could play for the Canes next season (Checkers’ Website)
  • A great investigative report by Mark Jones on the increasing ticket prices at Hurricanes’ games (Bleacher Report)
  • Corey Sznajder looks at Alexander Semin‘s effect on linemates’ sho0ting percentage (Shutdown Line)

My Opinion: We shouldn’t be surprised that Semin has somewhat of an effect on player’s shooting percentage. He’s a great playmaker and knows how to find the open man. It’s also important to point out that Semin has had some talented linemates during his time.

Staal, Fedorov, Backstrom and Tlusty all know how to put the puck in the net and Semin helped them along the way.

That being said, don’t expect the Tlusty-Staal-Semin line to produce at such a high rate next season. They’ll still be a dominant line, but it will be nearly impossible to keep that shooting percentage up over an 82-game season.
