Scuderi is another shut-down defenseman that should interest the Hurricanes. He’s also excellent at shot-blocking and can also play a physical game.

He’s as old as Ference (34), but has seen less NHL games, which may mean less wear-and-tear on Scuderi’s body.

Scuderi made $3.4 million for the past four seasons. He could be the most coveted defenseman on the market this summer, so it’s likely someone gives him more than that.

The Canes best option may not be Scuderi because of salary cost, but he would still help the team.
