  • The Carolina Hurricanes re-signed Brett Bellemore yesterday (Cardiac Cane)
  • A profile of Rasmus Ristolainen by the Hurricanes’ Website (hurricanes.nhl.com)
  • Corey Sznajder looks at bottom six options through free agency (Shut Down Line)

My Opinion: Viktor Stalberg would be a great option for the third line, but I do not believe Michael Ryder would be. Ryder excels more in a top six role and is not the gritty type of player that should be playing in the bottom six.

On the fourth line, there are plenty of options, but finding a center that can win face-offs and provide defensive play is crucial. That’s why a guy like Boyd Gordon is a perfect player for the job, even if he will cost a lot. Jerrod Smithson and Craig Adams would also be good options, even if their numbers don’t look great.
