Saturday Hurricanes Report

  • Yesterday’s story on Dan Ellis and other UFA goaltenders can be found here
  • Charlotte Checkers’ defenseman Bobby Raymond signed in Germany yesterday (Cardiac Cane)
  • Corey Sznajder gave an evaluation of Jussi Jokinen‘s season with the Hurricanes (Shut Down Line)

My Opinion: I agree with Corey that Jokinen should have played at wing than at center. The Canes needed a top six winger with Tuomo Ruutu injured and Jokinen would have been a good option. Either way, Jokinen needed to be traded because of his salary and the ‘C’ grade that Corey gave Jokinen while he was with the Canes is about right.
