Charlotte Checkers Coach Named as All-Star Coach

This year the 2013 AHL All-Star game is being held in Providence, Rhode Island at the Dunkin Donuts Arena, home of the Providence Bruins.  Today it was announced that Charlotte Checkers head coach Jeff Daniels is going to be one of the coaches along with Jon Cooper, head coach of the Syracuse Crunch.

Daniels has a record of 178-149-25 as a head coach in the AHL, leading the Checkers to an appearance in the conference finals in 2011.  He currently helped the Checkers earn the top spot in the South Division with  a record of 20-11-2-3, despite a bumpy 10-game homestead.  This will be his first appearance at an All-Star game.

Daniels will join Toronto Marlies head coach Dallas Eakins in coaching the Western Conference team bench.
