This evening the Charlotte Checkers are looking to bounce back into the victory column after falling 3-1 to the Texas Stars last night. Tonight’s contest between these two will be the fourth of eight this season, the Checkers holding a 3-0 advantage over the Rampage, all being decided by a single tally.
Defenseman Rasmus Rissanen is still sitting out with an injury that he suffered in Friday night’s game along with Marc-Andre Gragnani. However, the Checkers are prepared as they have called upon Tommi Kivisto who played last night along with Bobby Raymond who would be making his AHL debut. This is under the assumption that Faulk will not play tonight, as he has yet to play in three consecutive games since the season began.
If the Checkers are able to come out of tonight’s game with a victory, they are ending this three-in-three weekend with the lowest amount of points earned all season.
After Dan Ellis made an appearance last night, it is most likely that we will see Justin Peters in net once again after serving as the back-up against the Stars. Prior to Friday evening’s loss against the Aeros, Peters was on a four-game win streak and had only allowed three goals in the past four starts combined. He currently holds a 2.27 goals against average and .917 save percentage.
Today’s game is at 5:30pm ET and can be seen or heard on AHL Live.
