Re-Match: Charlotte Checkers Take on the Admirals

Tonight the Charlotte Checkers take on the Milwaukee Admirals in hopes of finding a way to get pucks in the back of the net.  Tonight marks the fifth meeting between the two and the Checkers are looking to cut the Admirals advantage as they lead the series 3-1.  Their last meeting was Sunday afternoon with the Admirals defeating the Checkers by a 5-2 margin.

The hope for tonight is to find the confidence to power past the Admirals and back into the win column.  In their last seven games they have only managed to post one victory, a far cry from the team that started the season 6-1-1 in their first eight games.

“We saw what we did on Friday,” said Sutter. “When we play with speed, courage and intensity, we’re a tough team to beat.”(via Checkers Official Website)

Tonight we can expect to see Justin Peters in net after Coach Daniels broke the rotation and started Ellis two games in a row. However, tonight marks the last game of his 25-game tryout contract, one that can be extended at any time.

Defenseman  Rasmus Rissanen will sit out again tonight with an injury and Jerome Samson will be a healthy scratch.

Forward Justin Shugg is expected to make his debut after being recalled from the Everblades on Monday. Shugg has 8 points in his last four games with 6 goals and 2 assists, including his first career hat trick on Saturday.

Tonight’s game is at 7:00pm and can be heard on ESPN 730 or seen on AHL Live for a small fee.
