Carolina Hurricanes See Two More Head to KHL

On June 5th, the Carolina Hurricanes announced previous goaltending coach, Tom Barrasso, changed positions to pro scout. Apparently, that job offer didn’t last long as Barrasso heads to the Kontinental Hockey League with former head coach, Paul Maurice. Wait, what?!

Yes, Maurice and Barrasso will oversee the Metallurg Magnitogorsk team in Russia. As you sure recall, Canes recently lost goalie, Mike Murphy, to the KHL.

Paul Maurice joined Carolina for a second stab at coach in 2008, but went 8-13-4 in this past season with the Canes. He was let go and replaced by Kirk Muller.

Greg Stefan replaces Mr. Tom as the goalie coach.
