No News is Good News for Hurricanes

Carolina did not participate in any NHL trades today as the deadline came to a close. Bryan Allen and Jaro Spacek were hot in the trade rumor mills for a couple hours. GM Jim Rutherford admitted Spacek was the player most inquired, but no offers were made. Canes could use a productive forward, but those transactions will probably be more consistent with JR’s off season moves. In the meantime, the roster remains the same as of Monday evening.

“I’m more than ok with it,” he said. “We’ve got some work to do here, and we certainly have to add another player or two for our team to … be a top-tier team going forward next year. With that being said, we have taken some strides forward as a team in many areas.”

Canes will face the Nashville Predators tomorrow. The Preds sit fifth in the western conference as they come to Raleigh.
