Canes Face Cole’s Habs

Last season the Carolina Hurricanes battled the Montreal Canadiens four times with Erik Cole and lost all but one game. Tonight the Canes play without Mr. Cole as they kick off another four game series against the Habs.

Our former winger has played in 17 contests with his new team and has earned an even four goals and four assists. Our Eric, of the Staal variety, also has four goals and four helpers. Thankfully, we have seen an emergence of the captain as he claimed three points in the past two games.

Montreal currently sits in last place in the Northeast Division with a 7-7-3 record. The Canes are also failing to impress with their 6-9-3 record. Carolina fell to the Flyers 5-3 Monday night, their fifth loss over the past six games.

Tim Brent has moved up to the third line with Dwyer and Ponikarovsky. Joni Pitkanen remains out with a lower-body injury. Where will the young prospects come into play tonight…if at all? Players like Boychuk and Dalpe need some TLC development through some TOI. More on that controversial topic coming later today.

Let’s Go Canes!
