No Blues’ Tunes for Canes

The Carolina Hurricanes are dancing to a different beat than struggling St. Louis. Yes, Carolina had a rough start as well. However, the team has found their groove and look to win their fourth consecutive contest. Meanwhile, the Blues have gone 2-4-0 and like me screaming singing Journey in the car…the men in blue are a little off key.

The Canes are 3-2-1 coming into Friday’s showdown in St. Louis. Joni Pitkanen and Jeff Skinner are twin performers currently with 2 goals and 4 assists a piece. Jussi Jokinen and Eric Staal  aren’t far behind the duo with 5 and 4 points respectively. Jokinen had the game winning goal in a shootout against St. Louis last season. Tim Gleason, in addition to proving why he deserves an ‘A’ on his sweater during the Boston game, is boasting a +7 rating. Zac Dalpe stays on the injured list, but Brett Sutter appears to be filling in nicely.

The Stewart brothers get to compete on NHL ice for the first time and, ironically, they both have 2 points in 6 games off of 2 goals. One difference, Chris Stewart has racked up 25 minutes in penalties (ranking 8th in the league).

Jason Arnott and Alex Steen currently the Blues’ top dogs with 5 points each.

Brian Elliott is in the net for the Blues. He has played in two contests and blocked 42 shots for a .929 SV%. Cam Ward will be in the crease for Carolina. The lazy goaltender has only made 149 saves and an attempt on Zdeno Chara’s life in the past five games. What a slacker.

God Bless Cam Ward.

Enjoy Juice’s goal from the last year…
