It Begins…Canes and Sabres

Chapter one of this dramatic, four-part series begins Friday evening. Victories have been evenly split between Carolina and Buffalo since the 2007-08 season with two annual wins a piece. Canes look to break the four-year trend this season, and I for one hope they do or you will be seeing me in overalls, Bud Light hat, and blacked out teeth at a fine restaurant in Raleigh. Yes, the wagers have already begun within the FanSided Network.

Vanek, Adam, Pominville, and Ryan Miller have been the early stars for Buffalo. Collectively, they may have boasted a more successful start than Carolina, but caniacs are not worried. We have our rookie of the year, Jeff Skinner, leading the pack with five points. Staal, Jokinen, and Gleason have each pulled in three points in four games as well. Our defense looks focused and greatly improved. Although defenseman Ryan Murphy has been returned to the Kitchener Rangers, Canes look forward to having this talented young player on the roster for many years in the future. Justin Faulk has proved his worth on the D with energetic, intelligent play during his ice time.

Both teams are coming off a win going into tonight’s game. Buffalo beat the Kings 4-2 while Carolina enjoyed a sweet conquest over Boston Wednesday evening. Even though Tim Redinger (aka, chubby kid in below video) over at Sabre Noise is taunting me…I know Canes are gonna win! We’re gonna win!
