NHL Monday Menu: Preseason Spice

Preseason puck play kicks off the NHL season Monday with a four-course meal. The Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators host an appetizer game at 3:00 p.m. as they serve up another dishy sixty minutes at 7:30 p.m. A doubleheader in hockey…who would have thought? I’m all for it, let’s lengthen those rosters.

The Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs game is apparently delicious enough to showcase on the NHL Network at 7:00 p.m. However, the dessert is always the best part of a four-course meal and nothing says tasty cupcake like Jeff Skinner. Carolina faces Buffalo up north at 7pm and despite being a preseason game, there are a few scrumptious tidbits.

Finding the right flavor…

Like many teams, the Canes are trying to perfect their recipe of players. Zach Boychuk, Drayson Bowman, Zac Dalpe, Ryan Murphy, Riley Nash, and Chris Terry are a few young players hoping to please Chef Paul Maurice. Nash and Terry were full of flavor Sunday afternoon during the Canes Red/White scrimmage, collecting five points between them. Dalpe and Bowman also shined with good hustle and two goals. Boychuk and Michal Jordan each lit the lamp as well.

Some fans don’t have a taste for preseason games, but there is plenty to observe and support. It is the future of your team. Hurricanes have a deep pool of prospects and it is making for exciting, competitive preason.

Let’s Go Canes!
