Giving Caniacs the Finger

I was rushing to an appointment this morning, and in between cursing at traffic, I noticed I was surrounded by Caniacs. A trunk, SUV, and sedan were proudly sporting Carolina Hurricanes magnets on their vehicles. The tension fell from my shoulders and I smiled. I wanted to signal the drivers with a supportive, “Let’s go Canes,” salute.

It is then I realized I had no such gesture. Being a Buckeye gal, I can throw my arms into an O-H and I’m guaranteed an I-O silent reply. This is unacceptable gang. We must have a fan signal. Check out the first half of the below video.

We could sweep a curled finger over our palm showing hockey love or raise our arms in a goal signal. Watch the video and vote of your favorite. I’ll announce the winner in a couple days and we will spreading Caniac pride all over the place.

Which hand gesture would you most enjoy giving another Caniac?

HA! I did this too! I was at Cook Out and a boy who looked about 14 walked by with his posse. He had on an Eric Staal jersey. My immediate instinct was to signal to him somehow that we were compadres. I got ready to do my Wolfpack signal and realized “WRONG!” Then I thought about rolling the window down and going “WOO HOO!” or “WOO! STAALER!” I decided he might call the cops for being harassed by an old lady in a Honda. I just sat there paralyzed. *sigh*
