Nothing turns my head like a BOGO (Buy One, Get One) sale sign. Everyone loves a good deal, so here’s one for Checkers fans.
Game BOGO (Blog One, Get One)…recap and preview in one delicious post.
Wednesday night marks the fourth playoff puck drop between Wilkes-Barre/Scanton Penguins and the Charlotte Checkers. Checkers lead the series 2-1. The Charlotte men continue to crush contests, minus one little shutout in Game 2…but why live in the past. Moving forward, kiddos…
Calder Cup Standings:
Since starting the run with Hershey, here is where our top six (Can’t do five, I hate odd numbers.) players stand:
Of course, Checkers statistics wouldn’t be complete without admiring the sprawling netminders.
Monday’s contest was a 1-2 overtime win against the visiting Penguins. Chris Collins took the lead in the first, his second in the playoffs. However, Blanchard made the assist to Nick Dodge in the second for the draw.
The Checkers continue to illustrate their strengths with puck possession and penalty kills. The entire team is a functioning unit with players sharing the arena spotlight. Matsumoto enjoyed his two-goal game one. Sutter savored his Monday game-winner. Jordan and Osala are playing like men on a mission.
There was a lot of Twitter forecasting from Wilkes-Barre fans about the brutal crucifying of the Checkers. Polar bears don’t eat penguins, but appears they are making an exception…looks like bird on the menu tonight puckheads.
