Cardiac Check: Checkers Are The Best Around

The Charlotte Checkers are making the Cane Family proud, especially in the past 24 hours. The charismatic Checkers slaughtered the Admirals 8-2 at home on Sunday, earning Justin Pogge earned his 20th win. The Charlotte team is now one point away from snatching a playoff spot.

Zac Dalpe was awarded first star for his stellar two goals and assist for his outstanding efforts against Norfolk.

Zach Boychuk was named Reebok/AHL Player of the Week with an astonishing ten points in four games, including a goal and two assists in last night’s domination.

Lastly, the Checkers announced Michael Murphy as the IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year.

I don’t know what’s in the water in Charlotte, but they should consider bottling it up and shipping some to the RBC Center.

Here’s a little video goodness in honor of all the Checkers’ success. I mean, what’s better than a little Karate Kid with motivational 80′s music?  Ah, nothing. Nothing at all.
