Standings Shift, Canes Rest

After Friday night’s tough loss to Chicago, the Hurricanes returned home for a four day reprieve.

Alas, it was a busy weekend for many other teams. The Canes slipped to #9, one point behind Buffalo and three points below the Rangers. Toronto trails Carolina by four points.

The Rangers had a big weekend, crushing the Senators 4-1 on Friday and the Flyers on Sunday 7-0. The poor Flyers were also defeated on Saturday by the Sabres.

The Hawks went on to also beat the Maple Leafs 5-3 on Saturday to continue their impressive trek.

Caniac Nation will welcome their team back to home ice on Wednesday as they battle Atlanta. The Thrashers are coming off a win against the Florida Panthers on Saturday. Captain Andrew Ladd scored two goals, one of them to win the game just 25 seconds into overtime.
