Canes vs Rangers like Rocky vs Apollo

Rocky & Apollo (via worldofhurtonline.com)

Tonight’s match against the New York Rangers is reminiscent of Rocky III’ s famous, and frustrating, fight. Apollo Creed and Rocky Balboa are freeze-framed, each throwing a lethal swing. The scene is symbolic of their equality in strength and perseverance.

The Rangers and Canes come into tonight’s battle at the RBC Center in a similar fashion. New York (31-26-4) currently holds the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference standings just two points ahead of the eighth spot Hurricanes (28-24-8).

Both teams have struggled to maintain their current standings with much trepidation. The Rangers are looking to avoid their third straight loss. A situation Carolina can appreciate considering their recent road trip.

Although these teams are equally matched, I would bet Canes come out victorious with the home team advantage. Although, I may be a bit biased.
