Chad LaRose’s season can be summed up in one word, injuries. Chad LaRose has been a energy guy who gives everything he’s got, every night since his call to the NHL in 2005-2006. LaRose coming off of a career year in 2008-2009, which he scored 19 goals and assisted on 12 more for a total of 31 points. However, 2009-2010 would prove to be a difficult one for LaRose as he would fight injuries just to be able to play.
In 2009-2010 Chad LaRose dressed only 56 times compared to 81 games the season before. Even though LaRose played 25 games less than 2008-2009, he was only 3 points shy of his career high as he scored 11 goals and totaled 28 points. LaRose, especially in the 2nd half of the season, really took off scoring 9 of his 11 goals after March 1st. My guess is LaRose had a undisclosed injury during the first part of the season as he did not seem to be the Chad LaRose the caniac nation had gotten use to and by his finish to the season it makes it even harder to believe that he was healthy early in the season. LaRose also seemed to be one of the missing cogs on the penalty kill which was near the bottom most of the year to a respectable number including 3 shorthanded points.
Next season I believe the madness that is chadness will be back at full speed and he could be on pace for his most productive pro season yet, according to his number in 2009-2010. One thing the caniacs’ can expect is that if healthy LaRose will work hard and give 100%.
