The Carolina Hurricanes announced late yesterday afternoon that they sent Niclas Wallin and a fifth-round draft pick to San Jose for their 2nd round pick in 2010.  This will be the first time Nicky will play in a uniform besides the one of the Carolina Hurricanes.  Nicky went on to say how it was hard to know he was getting off the team plane for the last time on Friday night.  Wallin holds the record for most playoff overtime winners by a defenseman with three.  He will be an added asset to an already great team in San Jose.  He [...]

Raleigh -  The Hurricanes will finish a four game tonight as they finish their season series with the Islanders.  The Hurricanes are coming off a great back in forth game that saw Jussi Jokinen slap a shot past Miller with under four minutes to go to win 4-3.  It would be nice to see the Hurricanes get a win tonight because the Hurricanes will have their last three games at home before the break.  Granted Whitney, Cullen, A. With Mike Komisarek out for the year Tim Gleason got the call from Team USA that he will replace Komisarek. Gleason is one of two replacement as Ryan Whitney of Anaheim will replace Paul Martin. I would like to say congrads to Gleason, it could not have happened to a better guy. Let me leave you with one thought, could we see Gleason matched with who he was traded for in Jack Johnson?

The Hurricanes look to win their fifth in seven games tonight as they see game two of the road trip take them to Calgary and the new look Flames. This also is a homecoming for Brandon Sutter. This will mark the first time Sutter will play in Calgary as a NHL-er against his dad Brent Sutter and uncle Darryl Sutter. The Flames have completely revamped their team trading away two of their stars in Oli Jokinen and Dion Phaneuf.
