Rod Brind’Amour will be a healthy scratch tonight against the Penguins. Interesting move by the Hurricanes, it can go one of two ways. Rod Brind’Amour could take it to heart and work even harder or this could be the end of Brind’Amour in Carolina. Now I don’t think this is the end for Brind’Amour in Carolina, mainly because he has another year at 3 million. I think Carolina is simply trying to shake things up since they it has been hard to make a trade.
The other news is the the Hurricanes have put Michael Leighton on waivers. Jim Rutherford said this does not mean Leighton is out, but I think that Manny has won the back up job for the Hurricanes. I think they have to go with Legace tonight as he has been the better of the two and praying for Cam Ward to stay on schedule for a return against the Devils
