Here To Hoping It Ends At 14, Hurricanes vs. Wild Preview
Today the Hurricanes try for their first win in 15 games. The Hurricanes got off to another horrible start going down three to nothing to the Islanders. The encouraging side was the Hurricanes were able to come all the way back and force overtime. However, the Hurricanes are still winless in 14 games.
Today they face another western conference opponent in the Minnesota Wild. The only other meeting between the Hurricanes and the Wild went to overtime where the Wild beat the Hurricanes 3-2 on a Kyle Clutterbuck goal. The Wild come in as one of the worst teams in the western conference losing 3-1 to the Capitals on Friday night. The players to watch for the Wild start with their outstanding goalie Nicolas Backstrom. Backstrom is one of the few players holding together at this point. Another player of interest is recent free agent signing Martin Havlat. Havlat has stayed away from the injury bug so far this year.
If the Hurricanes are to break this streak tonight it will have to be a sixty minute game. I know I sound like a broken record but that is what has to happen as they played forty minutes of good hockey against the Islanders and the twenty bad minutes killed them. The Hurricanes will continue to be with out their top center Eric Staal as he still is probably a week away. Legace has not played the best in the last two and it will be interesting to see if they go to Leighton this afternoon.
