A New Legace Begins Tonight, but Will The Streak Reach 13

AUTHOR: | IN: Hurricanes | COMMENTS: No Comments |

The Hurricanes go into the game tonight with a goalie who was signed on Monday and is starting against one of his former teams.  Legace will be thrown in the fire against one of the west’s best teams.  The question is will he be the cure to a 12 game losing streak or will it continue.

The Los Angeles Kings come in with the top scorer in the NHL with Anze Kopitar.  The top line for the Kings has been killer so far with Ryan Smyth, Anze Kopitar, and Justin Williams.  This also marks the return of Justin Williams to Raleigh for the first time since the trade that in a round about way brought back Eric Cole.  If the Hurricanes have any chance tonight they will have to shut down the Kings top line.

On the Hurricanes side Pitkanen will not play tonight so the Hurricanes have reached down to Albany and brought up Bryan Rodney.  This makes me wonder if this team will ever be healthy this season, but they have to move on and play hard.  The defense will have to bring their A game as this is Legace’s first game.  If the Hurricanes can play a great game and a full 60 minutes they can break the streak.
