The Hurricanes Look like The Aftermath of a Category 5

Well a lot has happened since my blog, basically things going from bad to worse.  The Hurricanes have now lost twelve in a row and if that was not bad enough Cam Ward will be out at least a month after a freak injury.

Ward was scheduled to leave Columbus today to head back to Raleigh to meet with Dr. Marty Isabel to determine the true extinct of the injury.  Listening to the radio today play by play announcer John Forslund said he would be surprised if it was only a month that Cam Ward would miss.  With Cam Ward to miss at least a month the Hurricanes went out and signed Manny Legace to help Michael Leighton until Ward is healthy.

Legace brings in a resume that includes playing 337 NHL games split between the Detroit Red Wings, Los Angeles Kings, and most recently the St. Louis Blues.  Legace was an all-star for the Blues in 2008 before being demoted to the AHL in 2009.  Maurice said that the Hurricanes will go with the hot hand until Ward returns.

As for the streak were now at twelve and counting.  The Hurricanes played probably their best game in the last two weeks, but only played 56 out of 60 minutes and losing 3 to 2.  The Hurricanes are beginning to seem to come together, but they will have to play all 60 minutes in order to get that first win.  The Blue Jackets scored three goals in less than four minutes to start the third period after working hard to earn a one to nothing lead.

The Hurricanes now have a couple a days to rest up before the Los Angeles Kings come to town.  Let’s hope the Hurricanes can rest up and that that Wards injury is not more than a month.

Below are some pictures and video of the newest Carolina Hurricane Manny Legace
